Verified Purchase. In my original review I stated that I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews and almost reconsidered purchasing the adapter. I wish I had reconsidered. When the product first arrived it worked great. However, seemingly very conveniently after the time to return the product for a refund expired, I began having problems with the connection. I thought it was possibly something internal with my wireless network, but it is not because everything else connected to the network works fine.
So I went online to update the drivers. That worked for a couple of weeks. However, once again I am having problems with the connection for this product only. Everything else connected to my wireless network works fine, so it is THIS device that is not functioning properly. Once again, just this morning, I tried to update the drivers. No luck this time. I still cannot establish a connection between the devices, yet when I run the troubleshooter for the device it states that everything is fine.
Everything is not fine, otherwise I would have a connection and be able to see my PC screen on my television! My original rating was 5 stars, but now I must downgrade it to 2 stars. The only reason I did not downgrade it to 1 star was because the product did work fine for the first 30 days during the period when I COULD have returned it for a refund and for a few weeks after that.
If I ever get it to work again, I will update my review. Think very carefully before purchasing this product. Overall, not a good purchase. My wife wasn't happy with that at all. It worked great. However, I had to make sure the VGA resolution of the laptop was compatible with the allowable resolution on the TV, otherwise, no signal. I'm running a Toshiba laptop about 12 feet from the base unit at the TV.
The laptop is running on a wireless network also. I'm competely wireless. Strong signal, no dropouts. My wife is happy too. Highly recommended. I ordered this procuct about a 2 months back.
This product came like exactly you see in the picture and was super easy to install. The support is very good for this product and they help for everything.
I bought this primarily in replacement of the TV Box to stream foreign channels on my TV which i subsequently canceled due to delivery damages. This one in particular is fantastic and connects the laptop screen to the television without a con. The only con that i see with this product is it does not work when there is a wall between the laptop and the television and if i directly pull the USB from my laptop my laptop screen blanks out either I log back or I restart, this problem may not be for everyone though and heard this does not happen for my friend who has this product.
The price is a bit too high for the feature that it just replaces wired to wireless. Overall, this is a good product considering we can stream movies, videos from laptop to television direclty and wirelessly anytime. Hope this helps. I was a little hesitant to try this product because of reviewers who said they had so much difficulty installing it, but I found setup was a piece of cake.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional and, literally, it was simply a matter of putting in the driver CD and plugging in the antennas the TV antenna I hooked up with the HDMI connection and I had seamless audio and video from my computer. I got this exclusively for playing movies, so that was the primary test. I watched a whole DVD with zero glitches. No freezing, no lagging, no problems with audio synchronization and the images are at least as sharp as what displays on my laptop. I'm not using it over a huge distance, only about 10 feet, but picking up the computer and walking around with it makes absolutely no difference in the quality of the audio or video on the television.
